Draft — for review

These terms are a placeholder for review, not the final version. Bracketed notes mark facts we still need to confirm before launch.

Effective date

[Effective date to be set before launch.]

Agreement to these terms

These terms are a contract between you and [Legal entity name — TBD] ("Sipelle", "we", "us"), covering the Sipelle app and this website. By using the app, you accept these terms. This agreement is between you and us only — not with Apple Inc. or Google LLC.

You must be of legal drinking age

Sipelle is about alcoholic drinks. You may only use it if you are of legal drinking age where you live, and in any case at least the minimum age required by the app store you downloaded it from.

What Sipelle does

You photograph a drinks menu, and AI reads it and shows a card for each drink with an AI-generated image. With a subscription, each card also shows estimated nutrition details.

AI-generated content

The drink images are illustrations generated by AI — not photos of the actual drinks a venue serves. Calorie, ABV, sugar, and carbohydrate figures are rough AI estimates that can be wrong, and menus can be misread. Never rely on Sipelle for dietary, allergy, medical, or intoxication or driving decisions — check with the venue.

Drink responsibly

Sipelle shows information about drinks; it doesn't encourage drinking. Follow local laws and never drink and drive.

Your license to use Sipelle

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Sipelle for your personal, non-commercial use. On Apple devices, this license is further limited to use permitted by the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.

Subscriptions

Nutrition estimates are unlocked by an optional auto-renewing yearly subscription. The price is shown in the app before you buy, and payment is charged to your App Store or Google Play account.

  • It renews automatically until you cancel it in your App Store or Google Play settings at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
  • Restore Purchases is available in the app if you reinstall or switch devices.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their own policies.

Acceptable use

When using Sipelle, please don't:

  • reverse engineer the app, except where the law expressly allows it;
  • scrape or bulk-automate the service, or abuse its rate limits;
  • use it for anything unlawful, or resell it.

Intellectual property

The app, its artwork, and the AI-generated images and text belong to us or our licensors. The photos you take remain yours, and you give us permission to process them — including via third-party AI providers — solely to provide the service.

Disclaimers

Sipelle is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, our total liability to you is capped at the greater of what you paid us in the past 12 months or [nominal amount — TBD]. Some jurisdictions don't allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you.

Additional terms for Apple users

If you downloaded Sipelle from the App Store, the following also applies:

  • These terms are between you and us, not Apple — and we, not Apple, are solely responsible for the app and its content.
  • Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app — we do, at support@sipelle.app.
  • If the app fails to conform to any warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price; Apple has no other warranty obligation.
  • We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claims about the app — including product liability, legal or regulatory non-conformity, and consumer protection or similar claims — and any third-party claim that the app infringes intellectual property rights.
  • You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. government embargo or designated a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not on any U.S. government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
  • Apple and Apple's subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.

Additional terms for Google Play users

Subscriptions bought on Android are processed by Google Play under Google's terms. Google is not a party to these terms and isn't responsible for the app.

Termination

We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms. You can stop using Sipelle at any time. Deleting the app doesn't cancel a subscription — cancel it in your App Store or Google Play settings.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change, we'll update this page and the effective date. Continuing to use Sipelle after changes means you accept them.
